How Perfect Bride Came To Be Like so many young girls, Aly Shik's playtime included dressing in her mother's clothes and discovering a treasure trove in her makeup bag. By age twelve Aly wasn't simply applying rouge and enjoying herself in fron t of a mirror, she was applying make-up on all of her friends. "Little did I know at the time, that what I considered to be so much fun would develop into such a satisfying career". Aly is the proprietor of Perfect Bride, an on-location beauty/ styling service for brides, and private clients. Aly, who grew up in the New York City area, always had a flair for fashion, and a passion for make-up attended the Fashion Institute of technology, majoring in fashion buying and merchandising to hone her natural talent. After earning her degree she entered the exciting world of style as a fashion buyer for a large buying firm in New York's garment industry. Being present at photo shoots, and later freelancing as a beauty stylist for Ford, Next and Wilhelmina models was the perfect laboratory to observe, experiment and appreciate the tricks of the trade. At the same time, Aly was taking technical courses in New York and Europe to refine her skills. After being mentored by some of New York's and Europe's leading make-up and hair stylists, Aly noticed a distinctive niche that needed to be filled. Recognizing the need for on-site hair and make-up styling services for the bride and the wedding party, Perfect Bride was created. The goal for Aly and her team of beauty experts is to give women a memorable look on their wedding day and total peace of mind as they go from the initial planning stages to the walk down the aisle. |
